I am now offering lactation support in-office at Lactation Room in North Bethesda — covered by insurance! Lactation Room is in-network with Aetna, Anthem, Carefirst BCBS/BlueChoice, BCBS FEP, Cigna, GEHA, Tricare plans, UHC/United Healthcare, UMR. Telehealth option available for most insurance plans. Home visits available on a case-by-case basis with $50 travel fee.

Text Support
Need some troubleshooting or support via text message? Too tired for a full in-person cosult? Get a week’s worth of unlimited access to secure text message support. If it is clear that you are dealing with an issue in need of more assessment than can be provided via text, I will ask you to schedule a virtual or in-person visit. Messages replied to during business hours only, but may be sent at any time.

Prenatal Prep
An infant feeding prep class customized to your needs and goals. Designed to help expectant parents (partners too) learn about their feeding options and gain confidence in their choices before baby’s arrival. We will cover basic breastfeeding education, hunger cues, diaper outputs, an overview of pumping, and much more. We will also dispel common myths and help you feel comfortable and prepared for your feeding journey.
60 minutes / typically covered by insurance
Initial Visit
Whether via an in-office, in-home, or virtual visit, I will observe a feeding, address your concerns, provide guidance on how to resolve any issues, and help you to feel supported and empowered in your journey. Always includes a weight check, and weighted feeding if applicable. Includes ongoing support via secure messaging portal, and follow-up appointments scheduled as needed. This is appropriate whether you are nursing, exclusively pumping, or combo feeding.

Follow-Up Care
Assess baby’s current feeding situation and follow up on any concerns. Always includes a weight check, and weighted feeding if applicable. Troubleshoot any issues further and continue to work towards your goals! Includes ongoing support via secure messaging portal, and follow-up appointments scheduled as needed. This is appropriate whether you are nursing, exclusively pumping, or combo feeding.

Pump With A Plan
Prepare for your return to work, make a plan to include your partner or caregivers in feeding your baby, or get support for exclusive pumping. Learn everything you need to know to be successful at pumping: we will measure for correct flange size, familiarize you with your pump, cover breast milk storage and safe handling, pumping schedules, and the basics of bottle feeding.

Flange Fitting
Achieve a comfortable and effective fit for your breast pump flanges. This allows you to maximize milk output, minimize damage, and pump without pain or discomfort. I assess nipple measurement as well as comfort and function in the pump. You will fill out a questionnaire prior to your fitting. Have your pump and all pump parts clean and available for our session. For in-office visits, you can go home with your newly fitted pump parts, which are often fully covered by insurance!

Weighted Feed
We will weigh baby immediately before an after a feed to estimate their milk transfer, using our highly accurate neonatal scale. Note: this service does not include latch assessment or other lactation support. Offered in the comfort of your home only.

Weight Check
A quick weight check in the comfort of your home, using our highly accurate neonatal scale. Perfect for peace of mind between pediatrician appointments, or ongoing monitoring when there are concerns about weight gain or growth. Note: this service does not include latch assessment or other lactation support. Weight checks are discounted for established clients.
